We are back from a much needed vacation to Texas to visit one of my best friends and her cute family so I guess I will feel you in on my pregnancy so far.
Babies due date is September 6th. The day after Labor Day and the day before our anniversary. Pretty exciting huh? So that puts me at twelve weeks today. My pregnancy has been really easy and I am loving it. I really can't complain because I have had very few symptoms. I have felt nauseated a handful of times and I have only thrown up four times. I feel super lucky to not be that sick because frankly I don't think I could do my job. Other than that I have only felt exhausted, hungry ALL the time, back pain and extreme cravings. I have a lot of sympathy for those woman who throw up every day their first trimester. They are a lot stronger than I am.
As far as cravings go I crave a lot of fast food it is almost gross. I could eat hamburgers morning, noon and night. Don't worry I try to limit it to two a week. I am shocked that I haven't gained any weight yet because frankly I haven't been eating very healthy (I should work on that in my second trimester.) One thing I am happy about though is that sweets don't sound good to me at all. I have also craved Root Beer, fruit drinks like smoothies, air popped popcorn, pop tarts and cereal. I am sure I have craved more things but these are things I crave ALL the time.
Like I said above I have already been having back pain. So bad infact that my doctor suggests I go see a Chiropractor. He said the way that everything is growing is pushing on my spine and making everything move up and out. Which would explain why I showed super early ( I started getting a belly at 6 weeks). He told me to expect severe back pain in my third trimester and that I will probably feel most of my labor in my back.... Joy. The back pain is very tolerable as of right now though.
One thing I have learned about being pregnant is that no two womens pregnancies are the same. Women tell me all the time how my pregnancy will go and I just laugh when it is the opposite. I have learned not to really listen to anyone but my doctor about my own pregnancy. I love the suggestions I get for things like back pain and stuff but I feel like my doctor is the only one that can tell me what is best for my pregnancy.
Anyway, like I said I have loved being pregnant and I am actually excited to be nine months in August because I bought the cutest swim suit. I will fill you in as more comes about.

Umm, you said that the "babies" are due in September. Something I don't know?
CONGRATS!!! I'm so extremly excited/happy for you!
Congratulations!!! You will be such a cute mom! And as a Labor Day weekend baby myself, I can attest to that being the very best time of year to have a birthday :-)
So fun! And so true that everyone's pregnancies are SO DIFFERENT! Good for you for just listening to your doctor. It can get kind of annoying to hear everyone's advice on EVERYTHING. Our cravings sound similar. Mine were also fast food, cereal, smoothies, and NO SWEETS - they didn't sound good at all! Glad you're feeling good!
I have a fabulous chiropractor out there if you want a reference!! :)
You are so right. Pregnancies are so different! Its the same when you have the baby...they are all different. So you have to take advice, but only with a grain of salt. :)
DEFINITELY give into your cravings though! Heehee..that is fun! I craved root beer too!
One piece of advice I have is to get a Belly Book. You can find them at Barnes & Noble in the baby book section. I was so happy that I wrote things down week to week. I still look back at it sometimes. :)
I will be up a few times before you have the baby..lets try and do lunch!
Ha ha Jayme read it again and it will make more sense. And Yes Shanda I would LOVE to do lunch! Call me. I think you still have my number. If not let me know. Thanks everyone! We are very excited.
